We’ve noticed that people’s eating habits have changed dramatically, not just in India but around the world, and that people are looking for healthier options when they dine out. When it comes to beverages like tea, the generation gets wide and every people love to make an engagement with it. Today we are in a conversation with a dynamic proprietary, with a young mind and a vision.
Subham Gupta, the proprietor of Chai Adda, has made a name for himself in the industry. A native who understands the realities of Cuttack and the relationship between chai and the people. He set a precedent with his brothers all around the country by providing the ideal sip to others and establishing a bond between them.
What differences have you felt being completely independent?
I feel independent at my start-up, and I don’t have to answer to anyone higher up. It’s my business; if I fail, I’ll lose money; if I succeed, I’ll make money. That’s all there is to it.
Why did you choose entrepreneurship? Have you had any plans before?
My peers aspired to be doctors, engineers, soldiers, and other professions while I was in school, but I always wanted to be a businessman, and it is still my desire to be a successful entrepreneur. I picked it because, in business, your profit and loss are yours to keep. As a result, I’m distinct from the 10 to 6 service.
How was your childhood and where was it?
My childhood was neither good nor terrible; I was a decent student who preferred to spend my time studying and playing games; I’m not sure how I became an adult; yet, my childhood was better than it is today. My entire youth was spent in Cuttack.
I think Chai Adda, has been one of the best places to hang out. Was that your idea too?
My relatives are also in this industry and have two stores in Kolkata, one in Kalyani, West Bengal, and the other in kanchrapara, West Bengal..we designed and implemented it first in Kolkata and we want to grow our franchise as far as we can.
Ok so if you would be a customer of Chai adda, what’s the first thing you will order and why?
If I were a chai adda client, I would buy malai keshar chai since it is one of my favourites and has the flavours of saffron and malai, thus it is my favourite.
What is your star spell for Chai Adda and what’s your plan?
Eat Meet Repeat is our star spell, and we aim to expand our franchise across India and beyond.
