In her Hollywood debut, Sobhita Dhulipala plays a call girl in the movie Monkey Man, collaborating with aspiring director Dev Patel

Dev Patel’s Monkey Man marked Sobhita Dhulipala’s Hollywood debut following her participation in a number of popular films and web series, including Made in Heaven.For Sobhita Dhulipala, working on films and television shows like Ponniyin Selvan I and II (2022) and Made in Heaven seasons 1 and 2 seemed like a logical next step. Monkey Man, the actor’s debut feature film, was just released internationally. Sobhita discussed her role in the movie and her experience working with Dev Patel, who co-wrote, produced, directed, and acts in the action thriller, in a recent interview with The New York Times.

She plays Sita in the movie Monkey Man, a call girl who works for wealthy but vile men. When asked about her experience of being able to pursue a career playing quirky roles like those in Monkey Man, Sobhita remarked, “Those are really beautifully complex humans.” It truly is an honour to be regarded as someone who can be trusted with such qualities. I want to be a part of the story if it inspires me or if I can add anything worthwhile.”
