India is now the top source of Asias International Travellors

Travel from India to the United States has surpassed pre-pandemic levels for the first five months of 2023.The number of Indians travelling overseas has increased, and the United States is attempting to keep up by constructing two new consulates in the South Asian nation.

According to travel advisory IPK International, India overtook China as Asia’s top source of foreign visitors in 2022. India had more international travellers in 2022 than China, South Korea, and Japan combined, the business reported.The tourism industry in the US has taken notice. According to Geoff Freeman, CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, “new markets like India may offset (other countries) and help us grow in the long run.”

In a joint statement, President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the opening of two new US consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, India.According to the statement, the leaders gave officials the order to find new ways to ease travel for business, tourism, and professional and technical exchanges between the two nations.

According to information from the U.S. Department of Commerce National Travel and Tourism Office, travel from India to the United States has surpassed pre-pandemic volumes for the first five months of 2023. Other Asian nations are lagging behind, especially China, where visitors have been reluctant to visit the United States after the outbreak.India climbed from eighth place in 2019 to third place last year among foreign nationals visiting the United States. These statistics do not account for cross-border travellers from Mexico and Canada. Executives claimed that the action mirrors patterns that first appeared in China a few years ago.
