India had more international travellers in 2022 than China, South Korea, and Japan combined, the business reported.The tourism industry in the US has taken notice. According to Geoff Freeman, CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, “new markets like India may offset (other countries) and help us grow in the long run.”
In a joint statement, President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the opening of two new US consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, India.According to the statement, the leaders gave officials the order to find new ways to ease travel for business, tourism, and professional and technical exchanges between the two nations.

These statistics do not account for cross-border travellers from Mexico and Canada. Executives claimed that the action mirrors patterns that first appeared in China a few years ago.
