direct international flight service from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar will possibly start after March this year. BPIA director Prasanna Pradhan informed this on Tuesday.
“For the international flight service, we are completely renovating the old terminal building. The link building we have will serve as the integrated international terminal. We expect the renovation work will complete by the end of March. Thereafter, the international flight service may start,” said Pradhan.
While informing about the flight operator, Pradhan said, “Indigo Airlines may start the international flight service from the BPIA to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok. An agreement has already been signed between the Odisha government and the carrier.” IndiaOne Air’s aircraft VT-KSS took off from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Bhubaneswar at 7:30 am today. The flight service will connect Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar.
