“Introspect”: PM Modi’s pre-budget statement to MPs

According to PM Modi, no one recalls those who “cheerharan” democracy in Parliament or who oppose only for the purpose of opposing.A day ahead of the interim Budget 2024, on Wednesday, PM Modi addressed the “unruly MPs” and urged reflection as the Budget Session of Parliament got underway. “We saw a display of women empowerment on January 26 too,” Prime Minister Modi added, referring to the women’s reservation bill that was approved by the new Parliament. Nirmala Sitharaman ji will give the interim budget tomorrow, while President Droupadi Murmu will address the assembly today. This is the Nari Shaktipeeth celebration.”

“In the last 10 years, MPs did what suited them in Parliament,” Prime Minister Modi stated in a jab at lawmakers who were alleged to have disrupted the legislative process. However, I must state that individuals who engage in “habitual offenders,” or who regularly engage in “cheerharan” behaviour against democracy, ought to reflect at the previous session. They can even inquire with the residents of their constituency to see if they are remembered for that.”According to PM Modi, people who oppose just for the sake of opposing are forgotten, in contrast to those who criticise with the fiercest language yet make real, constructive contributions to the discussion. “There’s also room for remorse with this. I shall implore my fellow lawmakers to make the most of this session.”
