Jadupur Village Committee Asks For Evidence From SIT In Pari Murder Case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Odisha Crime Branch arrested one person for his alleged involvement in the abduction and murder of five-year-old Nayagarh girl ‘Pari’. The person is a resident of Jadupur in Nayagarh district and revealed the information through a press release.

But after the arrest, many having risen doubt over the matter and are not approving the police action unless crucial and real evidence will be placed to connect the suspect with the brutal crime.

Jayakrushna Parida, Head of the Jadupur village committee stated that SIT must have found any evidence to which they have made the arrest. They have even asked the officials to show any evidence before arresting anyone from the village but they asked them to wait till 24th December. But now with the arrest thing have a little upside down and Parida claims not to accept the action until any proof is shown.

Parida further informed that the probe team questioned the mother of Saroj Sethi, who was picked up by police two days ago, in connection with the murder, and his whereabouts are still not known.

While the investigating team in a press release stated that they have booked the accused under sections of 376-A, 376AB, 364, 302,201 of IPC read with section 6 of POCSO Act.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) had picked up Sethi, his mother, and sister, for questioning on Saturday. The action was taken hours after Sethi alleged that he was offered 5 Lakh by SIT Chief Arun Bothra to take the blame for the crime and that he was being falsely implicated in the crime where he says that he has no involvement in the matter.
