Success in the logistics industry is not merely about moving goods it is about moving industries, communities, and opportunities forward. Jaiky Vasani, the Managing Partner behind KPS Logistics, exemplifies this philosophy. Under his leadership, what began as a modest transportation operation has grown into a major logistics enterprise playing a crucial role in Odisha’s mining and industrial ecosystem.

Born and raised in Barbil, a town at the heart of India’s mineral-rich belt, Vasani grew up witnessing the pulse of the mining economy. Though his academic journey took him to Kolkata to pursue Chartered Accountancy, his entrepreneurial instincts drew him back to the dynamic world of logistics. For Vasani, transportation was not simply about trucks and routes it was about building a structured, reliable system that could support large-scale industrial growth.
With this vision, he set out to transform a small transport operation into a scalable logistics enterprise. Today, KPS Logistics independently transports nearly 8 million tons of iron ore annually, serving some of the biggest names in the industry including Tata Steel, ArcelorMittal, SAIL, JSPL, and the Rashmi Group. Expanding its footprint further, the company also handles approximately 15 million tons of coal every year from MCL Talcher to Paradip Port, strengthening the supply chain that powers India’s energy and industrial sectors.
A major turning point in the company’s journey was Vasani’s decision to invest in infrastructure rather than relying solely on third-party resources. By building its own fleet—now over 500 trucks strong, one of the largest in Kendujhar district within the Singhbhum–Keonjhar–Banei iron belt KPS Logistics ensured greater reliability, operational efficiency, and the capacity to meet large-scale industrial demand. This strategic move transformed the company into one of the most dependable logistics partners in the region.
The logistics and mining sectors, however, are not without challenges. Infrastructure limitations, regulatory frameworks, and environmental responsibilities often test operational resilience. Rather than viewing these as obstacles, Vasani embraced them as opportunities to build responsible systems. KPS Logistics has implemented strict pollution control measures, vehicle safety protocols, and operational standards that prioritize sustainability and compliance demonstrating that responsible logistics can coexist with rapid growth.
Even during periods of market volatility in the iron ore sector, the company’s focused strategy ensured continued expansion. Within a few years, the group turnover reflected 600 crores for both operational discipline and strong partnerships which is built on trust and reliability.
Yet, beyond business metrics, Vasani believes that true success must include community upliftment. Employment generation has remained a core pillar of KPS Logistics’ philosophy. Today, the company provides livelihoods to over 700 individuals, including drivers, helpers, and managerial staff—many of them from local communities.
“We believe development must be inclusive. If we are growing, the people working with us should grow as well,” Vasani says, emphasizing the company’s commitment to community participation and local employment.
While expansion into neighboring states such as Jharkhand and West Bengal remains part of the company’s strategic roadmap, Odisha continues to remain at the heart of its operations. With progressive policies and expanding infrastructure, Vasani sees the state emerging as a major logistics hub in eastern India.

Looking ahead, his vision is clear: to double the company’s logistics capacity to 20 million tons and create even greater employment opportunities in the region.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Vasani’s advice remains simple yet powerful: hard work, consistency, and faith.
“In the early days, there were moments of doubt and financial challenges, and we faced competition from established players. But we stayed focused and never gave up. Often, just when you feel like quitting, that’s when the breakthrough comes,” he reflects.
Today, KPS Logistics stands not only as a successful enterprise but also as a symbol of resilience, responsible growth, and community-driven development—demonstrating how business success can move hand in hand with social progress.
