Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces eliminated two terrorists in Kupwara.

The army reported that a search operation is currently underway. On Saturday morning, the army announced that two terrorists were killed by security forces in Kupwara during “Operation GUGALDHAR.””In the ongoing Operation GUGALDHAR, two terrorists have been neutralized, and war-like stores have been recovered. A thorough search of the area is in progress, and the operation continues,” stated the army.The army further explained that on October 4, 2024, a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was initiated at Gugaldhar, Kupwara, based on intelligence regarding a possible infiltration attempt. Alert troops observed suspicious activity, challenged the terrorists, and an exchange of gunfire ensued.

“Vigilant troops engaged in effective firing, and the operation is still ongoing,” the army concluded.Earlier today, the army announced that security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir. The ongoing operation is being conducted by a joint team comprising the Jammu and Kashmir police and the army. On Friday, two army personnel sustained injuries due to a landmine explosion near the LoC in Kupwara. Officials reported that the incident occurred during a patrol in the Googaldara area of Trehgam in the early hours.
