When Hota accepted the prize, she commented, “The COVID-19 epidemic was a difficult moment for all of mankind. JSP was one of the few businesses to work with the government and the community to address the issue, led by its Chairman Naveen Jindal ji and the Chairperson of the JSP Foundation, Shallu Jindal ji. We made every attempt to end the pandemic-caused human suffering, from feeding the hungry during the lockdown to administering liquid medical oxygen to hospitals. He expressed gratitude to the organizers and jury for the honor.
Prashant Hota was also a panel speaker in the forum elucidating the transformation of CSR landscape in the recent years. “CSR has been transformed from charity to sustainability and the consultation and disclosure process in CSR has laid a robust foundation for multi-agency led collaborative social development, ” he said in the Forum.
After the pandemic lockdown was declared, JSP launched a unique program named “Mission Zero Hunger” in the three states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand to feed truck drivers, stranded migrant workers, and the less fortunate. More than two million meals were served as this initiative was expanded to Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
