JSPL Providing Oxygen To Hospitals In Odisha For Covid-19 Affected People

The Naveen Jindal Steel manufacturing company Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) assured that Angul District Administration will supply medical oxygen for the treatment of Covid-19 affected person which will the ‘People First’ principles.

According to the official reports, JSPL’s Executive Director and Angul Unit Head wrote a letter to Collector and District Magistrate Angul. In the letter, they stated that as a responsible corporate, JSPL is committed to the well-being of well being of the people of Odisha and always with the district administration to address the emergency situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While responding to the letter and JSPL’snoble gesture, Collector Angul thanked the company and its social Arms JSPL Foundation via Twitter.

Shri Naveen Jindal, JSPL’s Chairman, while announcing stated that that JSPL will supply 50 to 100 tonnes every day of medical oxygen from its Odisha and Chhattisgarh Unit.  He also mentioned that JSPL has been always standing with the Country and Countrymen during calamities and emergencies and will continue to do so during this Pandemic. For JSPL, Nation comes first and altogether the entire world will defeat the pandemic.

In an official statement through Twitter, JSPL’s MD Mr VR Sharma quoted-  “We can compromise steel production for a while to supply oxygen to the government to save precious lives. Our priority is people first.”

As per the records, last year the company had already supplied 725 tons of liquid oxygen in Odisha and currently, medical oxygen is critical in the treatment of medical complications that develop due to the Coronavirus.

Earlier JSPL also took multipronged initiatives across all its operational locations, including Odisha initiatives to fight the second wave of COVID-19. JSPL has instituted COVID Care Centres in each of its business locations along with the thermal Screening of the Workforce, employees, vaccination, periodic testing of all employees and workers, facilities for sanitisation, distribution of masks, operation of isolation centres etc. are being done extensively to keep JSPL’ workplace safe.

Under the Social Arm, JSPL Foundation has been providing hot cooked meals to the poor section of people and also been distributing face masks, Sanitizers, Phenyls, etc. manufactured by the Women SHGs to the Community, Workforce and the front line COVID warriors on daily basis for one year since the Covid pandemic started.
