Cotton farmers who wish to sell their produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) must self-register on the “Kapas Kisan” smartphone app, according to the Odisha government.
According to a notice from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI) would only purchase cotton at MSP from farmers who have registered on the app for the 2022–2023 season. October 31 is the deadline for finishing the registration process.
Farmers must present their farmer registration ID and a cotton cultivation certificate from their Agriculture Overseer (AO) or Village Agriculture Worker (VAW) in order to register. A bank account linked to Aadhaar and a copy of the Aadhaar card used for registration are also required.
Farmers can get more information by contacting Krushak Sathi, their local Village Agriculture Worker, or the officials at the closest CCI cotton procurement center. Additionally, for any aid, the state government has provided helpline numbers 6370011920 and 155333.
