The Coffee Board Chairman MJ Dinesh met Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at his office in Lok Seva Bhawan and discussed various issues. On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Agriculture Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee was present and gave his thoughtful opinion.
In the Koraput area of Odisha, many types of coffee are now being cultivated in their natural habitat. People adore it for its flavor and quality, and today Odisha’s Koraput coffee is recognized on the world coffee map. Coffee is being farmed not only in Koraput but also in Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Keonjhar. Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo and Coffee Board Chairman Dinesh spoke about the efforts being made to boost these products’ production and market linkages.
Singh Deo emphasized on increasing the production of coffee, developing infrastructure and opening more outlets. As a gift, a coffee packet and a book on coffee were presented to Singh Deo. During this meeting, Coffee Board Joint Director Shivakumar Swamy, Odisha Nodal Officer Upendra Kumar Shah, Coffee Board Member Manoj Dubey, P.R.M. Ravichandran were prominently present.
