Minister Patra Discusses Food Security With UN World Food Programme Representative

Krushna Chandra Patra, the Minister of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, met with Elisabeth Faure, the United Nations World Food Programme’s Representative and Country Director, to talk about a number of topics pertaining to the state’s food security. Strengthening the state’s food security and nutrition system was the main goal of the summit.

Minister Patra briefed Faure on the state government’s innovative efforts to increase food availability for those covered by food security. The provision of wholesome grains through Jana Poshan Kendras, the bolstering of government fair price stores, and the expansion of food grain distribution through the installation of grain ATMs for the convenience of the recipients were additional topics of discussion.
