As per the latest IMD reports, low pressure has formed over the South Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. It is most likely to intensify into severe depression and then into a cyclone.
As informed by the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Friday, the system is very likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a Depression during the subsequent 48 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands from May 6 to 8.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Andaman Sea during the next three days; into the Southeast and central Bay of Bengal during the next five days.
