Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is set to be the top-performing company in the coal sector by the end of 2021-22 financial years as informed by M Nagaraju, additional secretary, Ministry of Coal.
According to the reports, reviewing the performance of coal production and despatch during his visit to Talcher Coalfields, Nagaraju appreciated the company’s efforts for ensuring growth in production and supply to the consumers.
M Nagaraju, additional secretary, Ministry of Coal said “I believe you can achieve the production of 160-165 million tonne during the current fiscal which will be a great achievement. And by doing that you will become the number one coal producing subsidiary of Coal India in terms of coal production as well as profits.”
MCL, which had produced 148 million tonnes in 2020-21 financial year, has been set a target to produce 163 million tonne coal and despatch 182 million tonnes to consumers during the current fiscal.
