Mahashweta Sahu To Get 16th Timepass Booker Puraskar

The 16th “Timepass Booker Puraskar” will go to writer Mahasweta Sahu for her short story manuscript, “Octopusra Atma.” A literary festival will be held to present the prize, which is given to an Odia fiction writer under 45 years of age each year. The winning manuscript will be published as a book.

Furthermore, Kshirod Parida’s “Nobel Bijayi Kathakarnka Atmakathan” in the feature category, Biyot Projna Tripathy’s “Srestha Galpa” in the short-story category, Krushna Kumar Mohanty’s “Ruby Roy” in the poetry category, and Debabrat Das’s “Tha” in the fiction category are this year’s nominees for the “Timepass Bestseller Puraskar,” which is given to the book selected by readers as their favorite. This year’s “Timepass Bahibandhu Samman” goes to Saral Kumar Das in recognition of his selfless efforts to advance Odia.

To celebrate each and every honoree, Timepass has organized the fourth edition of the “Utsahitya” event on December 24. Many well-known and emerging writers from Odisha, including well-known Bengali writer Jayanta Dey, are featured in this all-day program.

Events will feature writer gossip, film screenings, poetry and picture duets, book launches, interviews, and Q&A sessions on a variety of literary topics, according to a press release from the publication’s director, Saroj Bal.
