Man Arrested in Sambhal for Allegedly Duping People with Fake Railway and Police Job Offers

Sambhal police have arrested a man for allegedly running a fake job racket, duping people with false promises of employment in the Railways and Assam Police.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, the accused, identified as Farooq Malik, was taken into custody on Monday after a complaint was lodged by Bharat Singh, a resident of Vijaypur village in Moradabad’s Bilari area. Singh alleged that Malik, along with his associate Guddu, took money from him in exchange for securing a Railway job and even provided a forged appointment letter.

During interrogation, Malik reportedly confessed to operating the scam with another accomplice, Manoj Tomar, a resident of Garhi village in Meerut’s Bhawanpur area. The duo not only extracted money from job seekers but also fabricated appointment letters, caste and domicile certificates, and falsified permanent addresses on Aadhaar cards.

SP Bishnoi revealed that the police first learned about the racket in July. Following an investigation, Malik was arrested and sent to jail, while Tomar remains absconding. The SP warned that such fraudsters would face strict legal action, adding that efforts are underway to nab the remaining accused.
