A 24-year-old Delhi man was electrocuted while using a treadmill at a gym in the Rohini locality, according to the Delhi Police. Saksham Pruthi, who passed away, lived in Rohini Sector 19 and frequently went to Sector 15’s Gymplex Fitness Zone. Saksham apparently passed out while riding the treadmill at the gym, according to reports. After being brought to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini Sector 6, he was later pronounced dead.
Saksham’s passing was reported to the police by the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu. The policeman stated that an autopsy revealed electrocution as the cause of death. Anubhav Duggal, the gym manager, has been taken into custody by the police, and he has been charged under IPC section 287 with culpable homicide that did not amount to murder and negligent behaviour with respect to machinery.
He was last seen at the gym riding a treadmill, when he reportedly received an electric shock while exercising, according to a senior police official. We have filed a case against the gym owners and management based on the medicolegal case and post-mortem report.
