Heavy rush at the Mumbai International Airport on Friday was witnessed as people left the city for their hometowns for the Navratri festival and the terminal looked like a crowded Indian Railway station.
According to the official of Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), the airport had anticipated this rush and hence shifted some of the airlines to the Santacruz terminal. Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani of the Brihammumbai Municipal Commission stated that they have informed the airport to enforce Covid-appropriate behaviour. They have also told the health department staff to intervene and tell the airport. They also fear that these travellers may return with Covid-19.
Several people took to Twitter to share photographs of the Choas in the airport.
