Indians continue to toss trash into the water despite many advisories, awareness efforts, advisory posts, and laws. And now a startling video that demonstrates the same has appeared online. The video, posted on Twitter by MumbaiMatterz, provides a bird’s-eye perspective of Mahim beach’s plastic waste. There are people standing in the mud. Others are spotted enjoying the breeze while some are seen taking selfies. The post’s description stated, “Beaches in Mumbai are now open. In order to view the #ReturnGift from the Arabian Sea, locals swarm Mahim beach.With the 10-second video clip, individuals can be seen standing on a Mumbai Beach that is covered in loads of plastic rubbish, landfills, and other garbage. Netizens who commented on this subject voiced their outrage and concern in response to the terrible footage. Many users called for the creation of tough regulations to combat plastic pollution in the city, while others called for the imposition of high fines on those who broke the regulations.The Ward-GN of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation published a follow-up on Mumbaimatterz’s article a day after it began to receive a lot of attention. It demonstrated how concerned officials organised a cleanup effort and removed the dirt that had accumulated on the well-known beach. They exchanged pictures of the Mahim beach before and after.
