The Mumbai Police conducted raids at the residence of Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty for allegedly being a “key conspirator” in a case related to the production and publishing of pornographic films through mobile apps.
According to the reports, the Mumbai Police informed that they have found huge transaction trails of Raj Kundra’s account and these are account to account transactions from Yes Bank to Union Bank of Africa,” Mumbai Police said.
Police also believe that the money Kundra earned from the porn racket was invested and used in online betting. Cops are investigating a deal that took place between Raj Kundra and a dealer regarding 19 adult films. Crime Branch officials told the court that they are suspecting that money earned from porn was being used in online betting. Kundra’s laptop has been seized, 48 TB data recovered along with 51 adult movies.
Meanwhile, Raj Kundra has also approached the Bombay High Court seeking to invoke the inherent jurisdiction of the HC to grant relief to him by the illegal arrest in complete violation of the mandate of Section 41A of the CrPC.
Kundra was arrested on June 19 on charges of the production and distribution of pornographic films through apps. The magistrate court extended his police custody till July 27 following which the businessman moved to the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the lower court’s order.
