On the occasion of Naga Panchami, the rare Nagavarana Besha ( Gold attire) of Lord Chandrashekhar was organized at the famous Kapilash Shrine in Dhenkanal. As per the information, the gold attire is being adorned after a gap of 70 years because of the theft of the previous gold ornaments used for this attire. The newly made Panchbakra Crown and Nagas is made up of Gold and weights almost two Kilograms which costs around a whopping amount of one crores thirty lakhs. As per the Information, this rare Nagavarana Attire is conducted three times a year, i.e., on Mahashivratri ( Jagar Amavasya), Makarsankranti and on Pausa Purnima.
