National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco), the top producer and exporter of alumina and aluminum in the nation, reported a net profit of Rs 274 crore in the third quarter of 2022–2023, an increase of 61%.
The Navaratna CPSE has declared its financial results for the 3rd quarter ended December 2022, here on Friday.
In accordance with the reviewed financial results for the third quarter of FY 23 that the Board took into account at its meeting today in Bhubaneswar, Nalco recorded a net profit of Rs. 274 crore, up from Rs. 170 crore in the quarter before this fiscal. The third quarter’s net sales turnover was Rs. 3290 crore. Even though the firm has seen strong increase in production across the board, lower alumina sales volume during the quarter, higher input prices, and the volatile and tough global business environment have all had an impact on profit margins.
Nalco’s operational effectiveness and teamwork were important in getting through the difficult time. We are certain that greater production volumes and global aluminum price stability will boost profit margins in the upcoming quarters. According to Nalco CMD Sridhar Patra, we are also optimistic that the Q4 performance would have a substantial impact on the total FY 23 outcomes.
