While addressing in the preparatory meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the commemoration of 75 years of India’s Independence, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik suggested several key steps to mark the gala occasion.
Odisha CM Patnaik suggested that the use of social media and technology should be in a smooth manner so that every Indian residing anywhere in the world can participate in the commemoration ceremonies for the 75th Independence Day celebrations.
He also congratulated the Union Government for taking such initiative and stated that Service-oriented activities can be part of the program to encourage community service among the citizens, especially the youth.
He then stated that the youth of our country should be reminded of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and our forefathers so that they can at least identify them. By highlighting the events of our freedom struggle and development of the places linked to it then more emphasis can be given to it and the youth will also gain knowledge about it.
He added further that it is important to highlight significant events led by lesser-known leaders as well as to capture the pan-India nature of the movement and many events that happened outside the boundaries of India need to be captured. The greatest tribute to the founding father of our nation will be to carry forward in letter and spirit the values and ethos of our Independence Movement as enshrined in the Constitution of India. The ideals of freedom, justice, and equality that defined the freedom struggle need to be reiterated in today’s circumstances.
