Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal to establish five Smart Vending Zones in the town of Khurda. According to a Friday release from the chief minister’s office, the Smart Vending Zones will be built in five different locations throughout town. A total of 266 kiosks will be built in the five zones, with a budget of Rs 8.79 crore.
The vending zone will be developed in five patches as part of the project. In Patch I, 90 kiosks will be built, 30 in Patch II, 90 in Patch III, 28 in Patch IV, and 28 in Patch V. The Chief Minister approved the project after it was proposed by locals during a visit to the district by Chairman of 5T VK Pandian. They stated that the establishment of vending zones in the town has long been a demand of theirs.
The people’s proposal for a market complex in Khurda town was under the consideration of the Chief Minister under the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ programme. A decision on the proposal will be taken soon, the release stated.
