BHUBANESWAR: Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power and Member of Parliament, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhavan today. The meeting highlighted key areas of collaboration between the state government and the industrial giant, focusing on sports development and ongoing projects.
During the discussion, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized Odisha’s growing prominence in the sports sector. He noted the rich pool of athletic talent emerging from rural areas and proposed the construction of an international-standard stadium in Angul district as a means to foster and showcase this talent. The proposed facility aims to provide world-class training and competition venues, enhancing the state’s sports infrastructure and nurturing future sports stars.
The meeting also addressed the current and future projects of Jindal Steel and Power in Odisha. CM Majhi acknowledged the significant contributions of Jindal Steel and Power to the state’s industrial growth and economic development. He assured Jindal of the state government’s support and cooperation for any upcoming expansions and initiatives planned by the company.
The proposed stadium project, in particular, is expected to be a milestone in promoting sports excellence in Odisha and supporting the state’s talented athletes.
