Financial aid worth Rupee 1,272 crore to more than 53 Lakh was disbursed under the KALIA scheme by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through video conferencing where he launched the transfer of money to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
As per the news report, the financial assistance for Rs 1,272 crore was disbursed to more than 53 Lakh farmers under CM’s KALIA Scheme. CM informed that under this each farmer received Rs 2,000 which would be credited to their respective bank accounts. Each of the eligible beneficiaries got Rs 2,000 financial assistance through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. He said that every farmer in Odisha should get the appropriate returns on his/her produce.

CM wants the entire farmer’s income to increase and their standard of living should become better. He also said that during the Coronavirus pandemic the economy was affected and that the farmers were unable to revive the agriculture sector with their hard work. He saluted their hard efforts.
He also added that the Odisha Government has been repeatedly demanding the Central Government double the MSP. Various programs have been initiated by the state government to strengthen the marketing infrastructure for agricultural produce.

CM Patnaik also interacted with five farmers from different parts of Odisha- Kumari Marai of Gadijore village in Sundergarh district, Manikya Pradhan of N Jampalli village in Bargarh district. Ghana Paika (landless agriculture household) of Podalgudal village in Nabarangpur district, Dasarathi Sahu of Pandripata village in Nayagarh district, and Binod Kishore Naik of Baripada block.
