Odisha has been cheering since yesterday for Bhartiya Janata Party. The Bhartiya Janata Party has elected the pride of Odisha, Draupadi Murmu as the presidential candidate. She is a resident of Odisha and the ex-governor of Jharkhand. Moreover, she is also a tribal leader.
However, there have been hints that the honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik already knew earlier about Murmu being a presidential candidate from BJP.
The Chief Minister also stated that it is indeed a proud moment for the people of Odisha. “I am sure Smt Murmu will set a shining example for women empowerment in the country,” he added.
Soon after the announcement of her name as the presidential candidate, the Centre accorded a Z+ security cover of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commandos to Murmu.
