Due to age-related health issues, BJD president and Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik was hospitalized to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. The 78-year-old former chief minister reportedly suffered from dehydration and was taken to the hospital. According to reports, Patnaik had unease on Saturday night, which prompted medical professionals to visit his home at “Naveen Niwas.”
In a hospital in Mumbai, Patnaik had just had spinal surgery for cervical arthritis. On June 20, he left for Mumbai, had the surgery on June 22, and was released on July 7. July 12 was his return date to Odisha. According to insiders, Patnaik is now being closely monitored by doctors and his health is steady.
