Odisha Simplifies Paddy Registration With ‘Self-Declaration’ Form

To make it easier for farmers to participate in the procurement effort for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025–2026, the Odisha government has introduced a “self-declaration” form, which streamlines the paddy registration procedure. In order to give more farmers time to finish the registration procedure, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said on Sunday that the deadline has been moved from August 20 to August 25. According to Minister Patra, the self-declaration form has been sent to every district in order to speed up and simplify the registration procedure.

“We have further simplified the registration process for farmers to participate in paddy procurement. They can now register themselves by submitting the self-declaration form,” he said while briefing the media in Bhubaneswar.

In response to farmers’ challenges completing land registration, the government agreed to extend the registration deadline. Due to the unavailability of important documentation like revenue inspectors’ genealogical reports and consent letters from co-sharers or legal heirs, many farmers experienced delays. To guarantee that no qualified farmer is denied the benefits of the Minimum Support Price (MSP), the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department has sent self-declaration forms to each district collector. The administration plans to finish the registration procedure by August 30 and start paddy procurement for the Kharif crop season in the first week of November.
