Former US ambassador to the UN and Republican Nikki Haley are attempting to make history once more in order to emulate Democratic Senator Kamala Harris, who Nikki hopes to be for the GOP. According to media sources, Nikki Haley has thrown down the gauntlet for the republican nomination, like Kamala Harris, for the top position in the 2024 presidential race to the White House, despite a vehement plea from an ultra-right wing republican for her to return home to India.
Given her background and work as an anti-abortion conservative woman of colour, Nikki appears to be a tough opponent. She brings with her executive experience from serving two terms as governor of an early primary state and working in the previous republican administration’s Cabinet on foreign policy.The Washington Examiner writes in a special dispatch analysing Haley’s chances at the hustings that while being relatively young, she is experienced enough to be credible, telegenic, and eloquent without the rough edges that cost many a GOP contender in the November midterm elections.Nikki Haley clearly lacks a clear path to the nomination as the race appears likely to develop with strong arm candidates like Florida Hero Governor Ron De Santis waiting in the shadows, despite his declining popularity within the GOP, Trump making a strong comeback bid with a sizable personal campaign corpus at his disposal, and former Vice President Mike Pence also likely to prove a spoiler for all. She came in third place among Republicans in a Quinnipiac survey, but with only 5% of the vote, behind Gov. Ron De Santis (R-FL), who received 36%, and former President Donald Trump, who received 42%.
Analysts believe that Nikki Haley might carry the ethnic votes from blacks to Latinos in favour of the GOP regardless of whether Trump defeats Santis or wins. She is a person of colour, of Indian descent, and a very experienced CEO who is qualified to be the Vice President like Kamala Harris. Haley is currently trailing the second-placed contender by 31 points, and that candidate has almost as much support as the front-runner does.
