As Mahua Moitra arrived at Parliament to record her statement before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, which is looking into the allegations of “cash for question” against the Lok Sabha MP—brought by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Jai Anant Dehadrai—Jai Anant stated that if someone is attempting to change the narrative by trying to play the victim, the whole country is watching.
In addition to the ‘pay for questions’ issue, Mahua Moitra and Jai Anant are engaged in a conflict around Henry, a rottweiler. After their breakup, they both claimed that Henry, the dog they had purchased together, had been abducted by the other person.Mahua Moitra has been on television recently, where she has admitted to handing Darshan Hiranandani her Parliament login so that Mahua could get help typing the questions from the industrialist’s office personnel. According to Mahua Moitra, there is no security risk because all MPs’ team members have access to the Parliament login credentials, which are not kept secret.
Mahua Moitra stated that there was no money exchanged and that Darshan, who she had known for a long time—even before she was an MP—had given her a scarf and a few cosmetics.Mahua Moitra claimed that Jai Anant Dehadrai went to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey in an effort to implicate Mahua due to their personal animosity over Henry. Mahua stated that Moitra accused Dubey of forging his PhD degree, hence Dubey was the only BJP leader to entertain him.
