By authorizing new projects with a combined capacity of 178 MW and an anticipated expenditure of ₹869.8 crore, the State of Odisha has advanced its renewable energy goal yet again. During the 12th meeting of the Single Window Committee (SWC), which was chaired by Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha, on July 24, 2025, the clearances were made. The Managing Director of GRIDCO, the Directors of GRIDCO and OHPC, the EIC (Electricity)-cum-PCEI, and other senior members of the Committee were among the important authorities who attended the meeting. Before being approved by the SWC, project ideas were carefully reviewed and presented by the Renewable Energy Nodal Agency’s (RENA) Chief Project Manager.
One of the authorized projects is a 69.5 MW solar park that Prozeal Green Energy Limited plans to construct in the Subarnapur district’s Biramaharajpur. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) was given permission for a 10 MW solar project at Lakhanpur in Jharsuguda, while INOX Solar Limited was given permission for a 49.5 MW solar project at Telkoi in Keonjhar. Additionally, NLC India Renewables Limited will be putting up a wind power facility at Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district. The combined energy capacity of these projects is 49.5 MW of wind and 128.5 MW of solar.
With these additions, the Single Window Committee has now authorized 1,844.86 MW of renewable energy capacity, drawing a total of ₹12,599.79 crore in investment commitments. This is a major turning point in Odisha’s clean energy transition and demonstrates the State Government’s commitment to making it easier for businesses to conduct business in the renewable energy industry. In addition to helping India meet its climate targets and fulfilling its Renewable Purchase Obligations, officials said the projects will also increase infrastructure development and local employment in the regions that were authorized. Through prompt cooperation amongst all stakeholders, the Energy Department underlined its commitment to promoting green investments and expediting project clearances.
