Odisha bagged the eminent ‘Best Marine State’ award which was announced by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.
The award will be bestowed on 21st November, which is World Fisheries Day by the department. Along with recognition, 10 lakh amount will be given. Recently on 11th October the golden beach Puri was termed as the ‘Blue Flag’ certification, which is considered as the cleanest beaches in the world by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE), Denmark.

Even Kalahandi district has also won the ‘Best Inland District’ award, and along with that, a comprises of 3 Lakh.
CM Naveen Patnaik congratulated in the official page – ‘ Congratulate Fisheries & Animal Resources Odisha & DM Kalahandi as #Odisha has been selected to receive Best Marine State Award while Kalahandi selected for Best Inland District Award by Department of Fisheries India. Odisha is committed to be a pioneer state in fish production to ensure food security & boost livelihood’.
