Electronic vehicles are been encouraged these days throughout India and the world. Even in Tier 3 states like Odisha, we are seeing more and more benefits being given to owners of electronic vehicles. The government of Odisha under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik has decided to give a good scheme to owners of electric vehicles. As per the new rules, electric vehicles will get a 40 per cent discount in parking places. The rule is being applied in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
“In a bid to encourage sustainable transport in the city, discounts to EVs of all categories will be given for the next two years,” said a BMC official.
“As per the new norms, around 10 per cent of the total parking area in Unit-I and five per cent of other places will be earmarked for parking cycles and no parking fees will be charged for those,” the official further said.
