The State government has taken action to maintain the bus stops in Athagarh, Balangir, Jeypore, and Motu, as well as to create 55 bus stops at the block level. The modern, environmentally friendly bus stand’s construction and upkeep would be funded by Rs 373.13 crore, as agreed by the Cabinet today. The local community’s social and economic growth will be aided by these bus stops, which will also open up new commercial and tourism prospects.
A specific initiative has been started by the government to build and renovate bus stops. The concept calls for the development of 55 block-level bus stops spread over 23 districts. The State Government also provided funding for the development of four new bus stops that were previously constructed at Athagarh, Balangir, Jeypore, and Motu. The construction of bus stops in each Odisha block is one of the program’s anticipated advantages. These bus stops will improve the State’s connectivity, inclusive growth, social cohesion, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
By ensuring that individuals, particularly those who reside in rural or semi-urban regions, have access to excellent public transportation services and amenities, the planned bus stops will improve the socioeconomic well-being of the area.
