Odisha Cabinet Approves Proposed MoU For Establishment Of NMIMS University Campus

A plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) to create a world-class NMIMS University campus in Bhubaneswar was approved by the Odisha Cabinet on Thursday.

This important project aims to improve academic excellence chances and raise the bar for higher education in Odisha. The planned university will serve as a hub for learning that promotes involvement in education on a national and international level. Given that SVKM pledges to accept 30% of its students from Odisha on the basis of merit, this will prove to be a benefit for the students from that state.

For the purpose of founding the university, the Government of Odisha would lease SVKM 40 acres of land near Goudakashipur, Jatni, Bhubaneswar. SVKM plans to construct the educational complex in stages. The Odisha government will make land identification easier and supply necessary services. There is great potential for this partnership to improve academic performance and postsecondary education in Odisha.

It fits in well with the state’s goal of fostering the development of human resources and enhancing its standing as a center for high-quality education.
