The JSW Group’s ambitious Electric Vehicle and component manufacturing projects in Naraj, Cuttack, and Paradip have received special incentives from the State Cabinet, a move that could greatly improve Odisha’s industrial and economic landscape. These projects are expected to bring in a new era of industrial growth and job creation in the state, with a combined investment of over Rs 40,000 crore and employment potential of over 11,000 people.
In Naraj, Cuttack, the JSW Group has suggested establishing an EV and EV Battery Manufacturing Project. With a 50 GWH capacity, the unique advanced technology-based Battery Manufacturing project will be the largest single location project in the world for this industry. The company is also planning to set-up an OEM Plant for Electric Vehicles and Components in the same facility in two phases. JSW intends to invest Rs 25,000 crore in the state over the course of these two phases, creating jobs for over 4,000 people.
Further, JSW planned to set up EV Components Manufacturing Complex comprising of Copper Smelter along with Lithium Smelter at Paradip in third phase of its footprint in new Age sector. In this phase, JSW is planning to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the state, generating employment for more than 7,000 people.
