On 27th September World Tourism Day is celebrated, and this year the theme is ‘Tourism and Rural Development’. Due to COVID-19, the scenario of tourism has completely changed. This year’s theme will help tourism as a foremost provider of employment and opportunities in rural communities all around the world. Many areas, especially in rural places tourism has the most probable economic status.
On this occasion, the India Tourism Offices of the Ministry of Tourism will organize ‘Paryatan Parv 2020’ with ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign. This campaign is organized for four days starting from today to till 30th September in several parts of the country. India Tourism Kolkata will conduct a Facebook Live from their official page on ‘Toursim & Rural Development’, which is this year’s theme. Sagnik Chowdhury, regional Director 9East), Amitabha Bhattacharya and Raj Basu will be the speaker during the live session. Along with that, another major attraction will be the life of Raibeshe and Baul.
Renowned Sand Artist Manas Kumar Sahoo sculpted a stunning sand art which represents some popular Tourist spots to encourage tourism all around the world. Through his art, Manas showed a small message to promote tourism. His message shows that even if the world is fighting against the deadly virus, people can have travel plans but with utmost care while maintaining social distancing and using sanitizers and wearing masks while travelling. “Travel & Revel” is the message depicted through his sand art.
Even the State Department launched ‘Odisha By Road’ campaign on the eve of World Tourism Day. This campaign organized by Superbike rally in Bhubaneswar and named as ‘ Kalinga Rides’. All the participants of rally assembled at around 6”45 are at the flag point at Infocity Square in Patia and the ride flagged off at around 7:30 AM, and it is to conclude at Dhauli Shanti Stupa.
