As a fundamental component of financial services, insurance is essential for promoting economic expansion. Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-turned-Additional Chief Secretary, met with Satyajit Tripathy, Member Secretary of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), in front of the Principal Secretary of Finance, to increase insurance penetration in Odisha.
Discussions centered on how to close the gap and realize the goal of “Insurance for All” by 2047, as the state’s insurance penetration rate is lower than the national average. All important stakeholders were included in the suggested roadmap for the State Level Insurance Committee’s (SLIC) first meeting. Discussions were attended by senior representatives of the State Government and IRDAI.
