With its stunning artistic style and cultural refinement, the Odisha Mandap at the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi has become a crowd-puller. According to an official statement, thousands of tourists from both local and foreign countries have marveled at the variety of cultural objects and goods on display at different booths.
In keeping with this year’s IITF’s central theme, Viksit Bharat @ 2047, the Odisha Pavilion successfully combines highlighting the state’s rich cultural legacy with its advancements in the future. The pavilion’s 25 unique stalls this year showcase the artistic talent, vibrant culture, and forward-thinking projects of Odisha.
Among the most notable exhibits are tribal crafts and artwork, Mission Shakti Self-Help Group (SHG) goods, Kandhamal spices, organic products including palm candy and Kalajira rice, and dishes prepared with brown rice flakes and Shree Anna. With Odia delicacies like Pithas, Rasagola, Chhena Jhili, Chhena Poda, and Dahibara, the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) booth has grown to be a fan favorite.
The architectural magnificence of the pavilion, which includes imaginative representations of the famous Mukteswar Temple, Ratnagiri Arch, and Sun Temple at Konark in Odisha, has attracted large crowds of tourists. To date, the pavilion has seen over 43,000 visitors, bringing in over ₹14 lakh in revenue. Live performances by talented artists showcasing Sabai grass crafts, filigree work, and Pattachitra painting—all of which have grown to be important highlights—add to the attraction. Prominent artists and dignitaries have commended the pavilion for its vivid representation of Odia identity and its compatibility with the goal of a developed India by 2047.
