For the second consecutive day, the daily COVID cases in Odisha has surpassed the mark of 10000. In the last 24 hours, as per the reports from the health department, the state has recorded 10273 new COVID positive cases. The cases are around 200 more than the new positive cases recorded yesterday. (10059)
Out of the total cases reported today, 5,962 were detected in quarantine while 4,311 are local contact cases, said the I&PR department. Meanwhile, Khordha district reported a maximum of 3,496 cases, followed by Sundergarh (1049), Cuttack (844), and Sambalpur (529).

In the last 24 hours, four deaths have also been recorded due to COVID 19 or COVID 19 complications in Odisha. One death each from the districts of Cuttack, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, and Jagatsinghpur each has been recorded.
