Odisha CM Advises For People-Centric Budget

On Tuesday, Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, gave concerned officials advice on how to create a budget that puts people first. Majhi had the idea when she was looking over the Planning & Convergence Department’s activities. Majhi expressed her opinion that the State Plan budget should take into account the great hopes that the public has for the incoming government. The Chief Minister gave advice to concentrate on making sure the programs effectively reach the local level and the beneficiaries are the people.

He emphasized the need for the mineral money to be used properly and gave orders for the fund to be used to create trauma treatment centers in regions that are mineral-bearing. He placed particular emphasis on the creation of trauma treatment centers inside the district’s medical colleges. In accordance with his party’s election platform commitments, Majhi instructed the Department to submit ideas for the formation of the North and South Odisha Development Councils following the formation of the task force and subsequent research.

In a similar vein, he suggested reviewing the manifesto’s main pledges and making the necessary adjustments. Anu Garg, the Development Commissioner and now Additional Chief Secretary, together with other high-ranking officials from the Planning and Convergence Department provided the Chief Minister with comprehensive updates on the Department’s initiatives and undertakings.
