Odisha CM Honours Madhu Babu, Envisions Prosperous State By 2036

Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das was praised by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who called him Odisha’s first visionary who reawakened the pride and identity of the Odia people. Speaking at the Information and Public Relations Department’s state-level Madhu Babu birth anniversary celebration at Jayadev Bhawan on Monday, Majhi said that his desire was realized when a separate Utkal Pradesh was created in 1936 following Madhu Babu’s death.

He hoped that Odisha would become a thriving state by 2036, fulfilling another of Madhu Babu’s dreams and becoming the best homage to him. Majhi emphasized Madhu Babu’s contribution to Odia pride, referring to him as the creator of the state’s identity and a symbol of self-respect. As the first Odia graduate, the first Odia lawyer to have an education overseas, the first Odia industrialist, and a pioneer in many different disciplines, he cited Madhu Babu’s groundbreaking accomplishments.

Madhu Babu devoted his life to promoting political awareness and defending Odia rights through unrelenting battle, the Chief Minister underlined. In order to promote a distinct Odisha, Madhu Babu created the Utkal Sammilani. He also made several journeys to London to make strong arguments to the British authorities. His main vehicle for uniting Odia-speaking areas and advancing cottage industries, agriculture, trade, education, and culture was the Utkal Sammilani, which sparked a new awakening in Odisha.
