Odisha CM Majhi Directs Police For Robust Security For Ram Navami Celebrations

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi gave police instructions on Tuesday to make sure the holiday is celebrated more smoothly and peacefully throughout the state ahead of Ram Navami on March 27. The Chief Minister emphasized widespread police deployment and appropriate management, akin to 2025, to uphold peace and order while presiding over a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. The nation celebrates Ram Navami, the anniversary of Lord Ram’s birth, with great reverence and devotion. He stated, “It is the duty of the police administration to guarantee that devotees and faithful in Odisha can observe this spiritual festival without any obstacles, in a completely peaceful manner.”

Majhi emphasized that it should be easy for everyone to enjoy the celebration. Advisor to the Chief Minister’s Office Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, Director General of Police Y B Khurania, Additional DGP (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, Intelligence Director R P Koche, and Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S D Singh were among the senior officials present at the meeting.

In order to ensure that the holy festival of Ram Navami is observed in a setting of harmony and devotion, the government has urged the populace to work with the administration. To guarantee that the district’s Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations go off without a hitch, a peace and coordination committee meeting was convened in Sambalpur. IG (Northern Range) Himanshu Kumar Lal and Sambalpur SP Mukesh Bhamoo were among those present at the meeting, which was presided over by Collector Siddheshwar Baliram. CCTV cameras, drone surveillance, and at least 25 police platoons will be stationed along the procession route as part of increased citywide security. To uphold law and order, flag marches will also be held, according to Lal.
