BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Jharkhand starting Monday. His visit is part of a campaign to strengthen the BJP’s organizational presence in the neighboring state ahead of its upcoming Assembly elections.
According to the schedule, the Chief Minister will depart from Bhubaneswar airport at 10:00 am, heading to Ranchi, Jharkhand. From there, he will travel by helicopter to West Singhbhum, where he is slated to attend the BJP’s ‘Parivartan’ rally in Kolhan. Majhi will address the public at a rally held at Majhagaon School ground at 3:00 pm, before heading to the Chaibasa Circuit House at 5:00 pm, where he will spend the night.
On Tuesday, Majhi will address another public meeting in Chaibasa before returning to Bhubaneswar from Ranchi at 4:00 pm.
The visit holds strategic significance, as West Singhbhum and Kolhan in Jharkhand are home to a large number of Odia-speaking people, making it a key area for the BJP’s outreach efforts. The Chief Minister’s participation is seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to solidify its support base ahead of the elections.
In addition to Majhi’s visit, senior BJP leaders, MPs, and MLAs from Odisha’s bordering districts, including Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Balasore, are also expected to campaign in Jharkhand to boost the party’s chances in the upcoming Assembly polls.
