Each Odia worker who was saved from the collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand received a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik . The workers met Patnaik at his home in Bhubaneswar after arriving there.
The laborers are Bhagban Bhatra from Nabarangpur, Raju Nayak, Dhiren Nayak, and Bisheshwar Nayak from Mayurbhanj. There were also members of their family in attendance. The Prime Minister congratulated them and asked how they were feeling. Also, Patnaik was thanked by the workers for his empathy.
Each of them described what happened inside the tunnel. The CM called them “true heroes,” stating that it is truly inspirational how they fought for their lives.
Notably, VK Pandian, the chairman of 5T, asked them about their health during a video chat yesterday. Sarada Prasad Nayak, the minister of labor, attended the meeting. In Uttarakhand, he had set up camp to keep an eye on the rescue effort. He took the workers back to the State. The Labour Commissioner was among those in attendance.
