On Saturday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released two books at his residence. The poetry collection ‘Apadha Bahi’ by retired bureaucrat Gopabandhu Dash and the book ‘My experiments with community policing’ by IPS officer Sarah Sharma were both unveiled. Dash’s book is a collection of 75 poems that reflect his eagerness to find humanity and his growing concern about discrimination in society. Pakshighar Prakashani is the publisher.
Sharma’s book captures the author’s personal experiences as an SP in various Odisha interior districts. The book is divided into 28 chapters that detail her experiences in administration, the beauty of the Gajapati district, elections, child-friendly police stations, pink auto-rickshaws, Covid times, health camps, and other events. Asian Press Books in Kolkata published the book. The chief minister praised the writers’ efforts and congratulated them.
