At the Lok Seva Bhawan today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi evaluated a number of Energy Department programs. The meeting’s main objectives, according to an official news release, were to guarantee a continuous supply of electricity throughout the approaching summer and broaden the scope of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana (rooftop solar plan) to include more recipients throughout the state. The Chief Minister underlined the necessity of using at least 85% of the Energy Department’s budget at the review meeting.
He drew attention to the frequent summertime power outages caused by overloading and gave authorities instructions to update feeders and transformers in order to solve the issue. In order to guarantee a steady supply of power, CM Majhi also emphasized the significance of setting up a strong backup system. The Chief Minister suggested that authorities engage in talks with several power producing businesses to guarantee sufficient electricity availability in the state in order to fulfill the peak demand for power. He said that if necessary, measures will be made to ask the Central government for help.
In order to handle customer complaints during power outages, CM Majhi also instructed authorities to fully activate a rapid response mechanism. The chief minister gave the state’s power distribution corporations instructions to maintain vigilance and guarantee a steady supply of electricity during the summer. Additionally, he instructed the Energy Secretary to take action to reduce needless electricity waste in federal buildings. To encourage energy saving, CM Majhi proposed installing sensor-based electrical equipment in government buildings.
The Chief Minister asked for a broad awareness campaign on the PM Surya Ghar Yojana in order to get more people to sign up for the rooftop solar program. Promoting renewable energy and lowering reliance on traditional power sources are the goals of this project. OPTCL Chairman and Managing Director Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, Principal Secretary, Energy Vishal Dev, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and other senior Energy Department officials attended the meeting.
