It is a peculiar case of COVID situation in Odisha. While the daily number of positive cases are showing a decline on an everyday basis, the death rate has increased significantly ober the past one week or so. In Odisha, as per the I and Pr department in the last 24 hours there has been 3329 new positive COVID cases which is nearly 1500 less than the previous day record of 4,843.
Out of 3329 new positive COVID cases, 504 infections were found in the 0-18 years age group. Khorda was yet again the COVID hotspot with 646 cases followed by Cuttack (293), Sundargarh (237), Mayurbhanj (145), Balasore (141), Nuapada (129) and Nayagarh (120).
Out of the total deaths linked to the infections, four were reported from the capital city Bhubaneswar, three each from Ganjam and Jajpur, two from Jagatsinghpur, one each from Puri, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Bhadrak.
